How should I store a battery?

If you don't plan on using the battery for a month or more, we recommend storing it in a clean, dry, cool place away from heat and metal objects. NiCad, NiMH and Li-Ion batteries will self-discharge during storage; remember to break them in before use. The most important factors are temperature and humidity. Keep the batteries on a dry place and as cold as possible. From the research that I have seen the shelf time of a Lithium Ion stored at 72 Degrees is about 3 years but if the same batteries is stored at 90 Degrees the shelf time goes down to 1.5 years. Do not store batteries at temperatures greater than 112 degrees. Some research shows that Lithium Ion batteries should be stored with a full charge and all others totally discharged. (It's only an observation)
